Vernon "Sandy" J. Sanborn, Iii

Vernon “Sandy” J. Sanborn, III, age 75, a resident of Frankfort, formerly of Kirtland, Ohio, passed away on July 9, 2022, at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL. Born to Vernon and Patricia Sanborn (deceased). Loving husband of Diane Sanborn (Sanford); loving father of Sandi (Eric) Wesel and Tricia (Tomas) Sanborn-Novickas; dearest brother of Pam (Terry) Ludwig and Penny (Lou) Lindner; cherished grandfather of the late Jacqueline Wesel, Allie Wesel, Ricky Wesel, Joseph Wesel; Emily Novickas and Zoey Novickas; fond uncle of Denny (Kathy) Ludwig, Timmy (Karen) Ludwig, Marshall (Dyan) Lindner and Linnea (Gille) LeBrun. Vern attended Lakeland Community college then went on to attend and graduate with his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University. Vern was a loyal Buckeye! He thoroughly enjoyed coaching his daughter's softball teams. He was also a very active member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church, where he served on many committees, church trustee, and a member of the Methodist Men’s Club. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Mokena United Methodist Church, 10901 La Porte RD, Mokena, IL 60448 on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at 1:00 PM. Family encourages wearing Ohio State University spirit wear or scarlet and gray. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Vern’s name to the New Lenox United Methodist Men’s Club scholarship fund would be appreciated.
