Valerie A. Frederick

Valerie A. Frederick (Risk), age 77, a resident of New Lenox formerly of Chicago, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Lightways Hospice House in Joliet. Loving wife of the late Joseph Frederick; beloved mother of Joleen (John) Van Ham, Jennifer Orr and Joseph P. Frederick, Jr.; dearest daughter of the late Martin and Eslie (nee Sargis) Risk; dearest sister of the late Martin (late Michaelene) Risk and the late Michael Risk; fond sister-in-law of Tom (Karen) Frederick, Margie and Steve (Mary Lou) Frederick; cherished grandmother of Joseph (Kelly), Sasha, Nathan, Sam and John; proud great grandmother of Bentley and Kylee; dear aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. She was born in New York and lived in Chicago until moving to New Lenox in 1971 and was a school bus driver for New Lenox school district for 32 years retiring in 2006. A memorial visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox IL 60451 on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a memorial service at 8:00 PM.
