Thomas S. Sommers, age 76, a resident of Frankfort formerly of Alsip and Beverly, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2022. Loving husband of Antoinette Sommers (Giglio); beloved father of Judy Sommers (Dave) Hanson and Donna (Tim) Guerin; dearest brother of late twin sister Jean (late Thomas) Davare, late Eileen (late William) O’Brien, and Richard (Virginia) Sommers; cherished grandfather of Kailyn Hanson, twins Sean and Brigid Guerin and Thomas Richards, Jr. Thomas was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the American Legion in New Lenox. Thomas was a devoted fan of the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Blackhawks and his grandchildren’s sports. A memorial visitation will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church 7659 Sauk Trail, Frankfort IL 60423 on Thursday, August 25th, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 10:30 AM with a memorial mass at 10:30 AM. Inurnment with military honors will follow to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to AHIHA Stan Mikita Hockey School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, www.ahiha.org, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org, or the Parkinson’s Foundation www.parkinson.org would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements handled by Kurtz Memorial Chapel, Frankfort, www.kurtzmemorialchapel.com or 815-806-2225.
