Thomas L. Healy

Thomas L. Healy, 87, of Matteson for over 50 years, passed away on May 22, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Geneva (Geving), daughter, Risa (David) VanOvermeir, granddaughter, Risa A. VanOvermeir (Steve Perrino), and grandson, Michael VanOvermeir. Preceded in death by their son Kim Douglas Healy in 2009. Thomas was born in Branson, MO to the late William and late Virginia Healy. He served in the U.S. Airforce during the Korean War. After meeting his wife of 65 years, Thomas and Geneva lived in Minnesota and California before settling in Matteson, Illinois to raise their family. Mr. Healy retired as a customer service relations manager for FSC Paper Mill where he supplied newsprint for the Chicago newspapers. He loved to fix things, work in the yard, and being helpful to his wife. His answer for a happy marriage was “Yes Dear”. Together, their gardening repeatedly won them beautification awards from the town of Matteson. He also kept up on the latest technology. Contributions may be directed in Thomas L.
