Terrence L. "Terry" Burns Sr.
69, of New Lenox, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 in Arizona. Terry was born in Joliet to the late Edmund A. and Rita C. (nee O'Neill) Burns. Beloved husband of Margaret L. (nee Harbit); loving father of Terrence Jr. (Julisa), David (Emily) and Stephen; cherished grandfather of Oscar, Evan, Taylor, Ella and Jack; dear brother of the late Major Edmund Burns, the late Mary (the late Robert) Olson, the late Jerome Burns, the late Robert Burns, Barbara (James) Bertino, Rita (the late Irvin) Hahn, Susan (Thomas) Slingsby, John (Mary) Burns and William (Linda) Burns; fond uncle of many. Terry was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. Terry was an Electrician and a member of IBEW Local 176 for over 45 years. He was a member of New Lenox American Legion Post 1977 and New Lenox VFW Post 9545. In lieu of flowers please send memorials in Terry's name to St. Jude School, New Lenox or Ridgewood Baptist Church, Joliet Handicap Ramp Fund. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox, on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 2-8 PM. Everyone will meet on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 241 W. Second Ave. New Lenox for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM. Interment with Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
