Age 96, of New Lenox, passed away on Thursday, August 7th, 2014 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet.

Susan is survived by her loving family, children, Carol Pearce, Lynda Fritz, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Pearce, sibling, Albert Mellema, grandchildren, Dawn (Michael) Goldhirsh, Jeffrey (Laura) Pearce, granddaughter in-law, Carrie Pearce, great grandchildren, Zoe, Alec, Max, Madison, Morgan, Kyle and Ryan.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin & Lena Mellema (Munk), husband, George Pearce, son, George Pearce Jr., siblings, Herman, Henrietta, Jerry, Theresa, Benjamin Jr. and grandson Dennis Pearce.

Susan graduated eighth grade from Schmuhl School in New Lenox. She retired from Silver Cross Hospital and enjoyed bingo, bunco, game shows and was an avid Chicago Cub's fan.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Sunday, August 10th, 2014 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Monday, August 11th, 2014 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
