Socorro Ojeda

Socorro Ojeda of Chicago, IL passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the age of 86. She was preceded by her husband Mardonio Ojeda; her daughter Alicia Betancourt; brother and sister; mother and father.

Surviving family members include her brothers and sisters; children, Ofelia Guzman, Arturo. Ojeda, Bertha Reyes, Juan Ojeda, Yolanda Guzman, Jose Ojeda, Maria Vana; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Socorro loved flowers and enjoyed having flowers around as often as possible. Her absolute favorite was red roses and was happy with roses over any other gifts. She treated everyone as family and was beloved by so many people. If there was a baby around she would gladly offer to hold them and make them smile. She will be dearly missed by so many people and we know she will continue to watch over us from heaven.

Services will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Monday, November 23, 2020. Viewing will be from 4PM to 8PM. Mass will be at 11:30 AM Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at St. Bede the Venerable 8200 S Kostner Ave, Chicago, IL 60652. After service burial will be at St. Casimir Cemetery 4401 W 111th St, Chicago, IL 60655. Due to COVID burial will be family only and there will be no reception after burial. WEARING MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING ARE MANDATORY FOR ALL IN ATTENDANCE. NO FOOD PERMITTED IN FUNERAL HOME.
