Shirley Mae Blackburn

Shirley Mae Blackburn (nee Besso)
79, late of Lockport, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Palos Community Hospital. She was born in Chicago to the late John and Genevieve (nee Henderson) Besso. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Keith Dallas Blackburn. She is survived by her loving daughter Linda Blackburn, Mary, Susie, and John; a dear sister-in-law Eileen White, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She attended St Joseph Grade School, Lockport and Lockport Township High School Class of 1951. She was a member of St. Dennis Parish, Lockport. Shirley enjoyed travelling with Linda on Spring Breaks and Summer Vacations. Shirley survived these last 5 years by God's grace and her three amazing doctors, Dr. Robert Sulo, Dr. Terrence Moisan, and Dr. Paul Gordon. She loved them as her own sons. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Memphis, TN or St. Anthony's Shrine, Boston, MA would be appreciated. Family will receive friends at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton Street, Lockport, IL 60441 on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Private Family Funeral Services will be held.
