Sharon Martiniak

March 17, 1941 — September 22, 2021

Sharon Martiniak (nee Ohlendorf), age 80, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.

She is survived by her loving children, Cassandra (Stephen) Sekulski, Jeffrey (Jody) Martiniak, and Leroy (Laura) Martiniak; grandchildren, Stephen (Kaitlyn) Sekulski, Daniel Sekulski, Spencer Martiniak, Jordan Martiniak, and Kyle Martiniak; brother, Charles (Naty) Ohlendorf; sister-in-law Carol Olendorf; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Daniel Martiniak; parents, Leroy and Anne Ohlendorf; and her brother Glen Ohlendorf.

Sharon will be remembered for her time she spent as President of the Gateway Community. In her spare time, she loved to garden, read a good book, or work on any kind of craft that she had going. She was also an avid antique hunter who enjoyed taking trips and visiting small towns and seeing what kind of treasures she could find in their antique stores. Most of all she will be remembered for being an amazing and caring mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Services for Sharon will take place on Saturday, September 25, 2021 with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 from 3pm-7pm. MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING ARE REQUIRED. Interment will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery
