Sally Feutz Hostert

April 5, 1928 — December 8, 2021

Sally Feutz Hostert passed away on December 8, 2021 at the age of 93 surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Born and raised in Danville, Illinois, Sally always had aspirations to become a teacher. She attended Eastern Illinois University where she met John Wilson Feutz. World War II interrupted their educational plans, but they were married in November 1947 after John completed his service in the Navy. They moved to Chicago and then Mokena where they raised their five children.

Sally touched the lives of many children as a dedicated teachers' aide in Chicago and later in Mokena. She also held roles as a real estate agent, office manager and deputy assessor of Frankfort Township.

Although Sally lost her beloved husband John in 1980, she was fortunate enough to marry the second love of her life Chuck Hostert in 1983. They were very involved in the lives of their grandchildren, traveling and managing their rental properties. After Chuck's death in 2013, Sally moved to assisted living at The Cottages of New Lenox, where she adored the staff and her devoted Hospice caregivers.

Sally was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma. Her sweet, accepting, witty personality always made people around her laugh and feel loved. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and anyone who was lucky enough to have known her.

She is survived by her loving children, John Thomas (Linda) Feutz; Gigi (Wayne) Christenson; Kathy (Paul) Eikedahl, Jan (Ted) Ziegler; Peggy (John) Ryan; stepchildren Allan (Beth Ann) Hostert; David (Cindy) Hostert. Sally was the proud and loving grandmother of Laura (Dave) Kral; Steve (Stefanie) Christenson; Andrea (Christopher) Shepherd; Jessie (Matt) Piske; Eric (Monique) Ziegler; Scott (Britney) Ziegler; Brent (Erin) Ryan; Chad Ryan; Blake Ryan; Megan, Nicholas, Ashleigh and Heather Hostert and 25 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband's John Feutz and Chuck Hostert; son-in-law Paul Eikedahl; stepdaughter Barb Hostert; grandchildren Adam Feutz and Erin Eikedahl; sister Juanita Lawson; and brother Dale Watt.

Sally loved the Lord, and we feel comforted knowing she is happy and healthy in His presence now.

A Celebration of Life will be held privately.
