Rosaria J. Cartolano

Rosaria J. (nee Guarino) Cartolano, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, with her family by her side.

Rosaria is survived by her loving children, Michaelene Cartolano-Thompson, and Michael (Nancy) Cartolano; grandchildren, Thomas (Melissa) Cartolano, Michelle (Keith) Huizinga, Rocco (partner Zak VanDenBerg) Thompson, Michael (Stephanie) Cartolano Jr, Keanu Thompson, and Vincent Cartolano; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Antoinette, Josephine, Waylon, and Parker Rose; her cherished sister Concetta Andreacck; son-in-law Thomas Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Anthony Cartolano; parents, Anthony and Theresa (nee Picone) Guarino; sons, Anthony Cartolano and Rocco Cartolano; and her grandson Anthony Cartolano.

Rosaria was a devout catholic and was an avid parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Mokena where she sang in the church choir for many years along with being a member of the Young at Heart Group. She was a hard worker and devoted much of her life to the family business, Melrose Pyrotechnics, where she worked until she was 80 years old. In her spare time Rosaria enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful woman, friend to so many, and will be missed by all that knew her.

Services for Rosaria will begin on Sunday, October 23, 2022 with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, in Frankfort, from 4-8pm. Services will continue the following day, Monday, October 24, 2022, with a brief visitation at the funeral home from 8:30-9:30am followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church, 19515 115th Ave in Mokena at 10am. Rosaria will be laid to rest next to her husband at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip.
