RONALD M. KARRELS

Age 56, of Mokena for 15 years, formerly of Frankfort, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at his home in Mokena. Beloved son of Ronald J. and Gloria Karrels; loving brother of Patricia, James (Catherine) and Michael (Cheryl); treasured uncle of Nicole, Natalie and Matthew.

Ronnie's gregariousness, outgoing personality, kindness and zest for life attracted countless friends wherever he went. He loved travel, good food and fine wine, but above all, appreciated his friendships the most. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend.

Ronnie and his father, Ronald J. (who preceded him in death), ran a communications sales and consulting business for many years. He was a former volunteer firefighter on the Frankfort Fire Department.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Thursday, May 22nd, 2014 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:15 AM and then to St. Mary Catholic Church, 19515 S. 115th Ave., Mokena, IL 60448 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Frankfort Fire Protection District Memorial Foundation, 333 West Nebraska Street, Frankfort, IL 60423 would be appreciated.
