Robert R. Beazley

Robert R. Beazley, age 96, of New Lenox passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021.

Robert is survived by his children, Lawrence (Kathleen) Beazley and Daniel (Kathleen) Beazley; grandchildren, Kelly (Jack) McGreehin, Kerry (Thomas) Dunne, Brian (Mallory) Beazley, Brandon (Jessica) Beazley and Jessica (Michael) McMahen; great grandchildren Jackie McGreehin, Brooklyn McGreehin, Duke McGreehin, Thomas Dunne, Aidan Dunne, Kayleigh Dunne, Judah Beazley, and Rosemary Beazley; and his sister Ellen (nee Beazley) Cuculich.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Catherine (nee Felcyn) Beazley; sons, Patrick and Martin Beazley; parents, Robert and Bernice (nee Eckert) Beazley; granddaughter Kimberly Beazley; and siblings Bernard Beazley, Rita Hodson, and Bernice Early.

Robert was a WWII veteran who proudly served in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theatre. Robert was a SeaBee in the Navy and his battalion built an airstrip on the Island of Tinian which is in the Mariana Islands. This airstrip would be where the famous plane, the Enola Gay, took off from which brought an end to WWII. After his return home, Robert became an electrician and worked for the Local 134 Electricians Union for 40 years. In his free time Robert liked to travel all around the United States, especially in his motorhome. He loved to go camping and fishing. Robert was also a very proud American and was very patriotic up until the end.

Services for Robert will begin on Monday, December 27th, 2021 with a visitation from 4pm-8pm at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road in New Lenox. On Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 a short visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30am until 10:30 am. Immediately following will be a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Jude’s Catholic Church in New Lenox. Robert will be laid to rest next to his loving wife Catherine at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated.
