Robert D. O'Brien

Robert D. O’Brien Jr., age 78, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, December 9, 2022 with his family by his side.

Robert is survived by his siblings, James A. (Mary Jo) O’Brien, Maureen O’Brien, Barry T. (Sandra) O’Brien, Michael D. O’Brien, and Jamee A. O’Brien; sister-in-law Lynda O’Brien; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert D. and Celeste A. (nee Boyle) O’Brien; and his brother, John “Jack” W. O’Brien.

Robert will be remembered as the patriarch of his family. He was a graduate of Loyola University and a Vietnam veteran who served in the US Army proudly. Bob was a hardworking and self-made man who was wonderfully generous to his family and friends. He had a great interest in finances, politics, fishing, and enjoyed anything related to Disney.

Robert will be laid to rest with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 2pm. A celebration of life will be held some time in the spring.
