Richard E. Wheet

72, of Elwood, passed away on Sunday, April 5th, 2020. Richard was born in Oak Park, IL to the late Elbert and Mildred (nee Roach) Wheet. Loving father of Kimberli (Jerome) Evon, Richard Wheet, and Scott Wheet; cherished grandfather of Kaelen Evon and Emma Evon; dear brother of BettyJo (late William) Howell and Michael Wheet. Richard was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and the recipient of a Purple Heart medal. He then went on to become the owner and operator of Richard & Son Construction Company for 35 years. Due to COVID-19 and IDPH Guidelines, the family has postponed services. Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
