Richard (Dick) Hannaway
Age 77, a resident of Monee, IL passed away on June 6, 2018. He was the loving husband of 34 years to Janet Hannaway (Irlbacker); cherished father and father in law of his daughter Lori Lenis and her husband Pierre, father of Dennis, Michael and Sharon (Kevin) Wandle and grandfather of Kyle and Conner Wandle, adored brother of Paul (Elizabeth) Hannaway and Diane (Dandy) Gambino.
He is also survived by loving in-laws, nieces and nephews, countless loving close friends he considered family and his beloved horses Ginger and Chance…and dogs Cooper, Ella, Belle, and Buck.
During his professional career, he was the project architect on many high-profile commercial design projects, including the iconic red building in the Chicago skyline…the CNA building, Lake Point Towers and Delnor Hospital.
Rich loved the outdoors. He was a true naturalist, who enjoyed riding his horses, training his sporting dogs, hunting, fishing and boating on Lake Michigan with family and friends. Rich was a member of Field Trial Clubs of Illinois, a founding member and president of Western Pointer Club, and a principal at Green Acres Sportsman's Club.
Rich is probably best remembered for his love of life, his sense of humor, and just the shear joy of being with people.
