Rev. William G. Johnson Age 84, of Homer Glen, passed away, on Sunday, August 4, 2013. Born in Eldorado, Illinois, January 20, 1929 to Earl C. and Vera (Morris) Johnson. Survived by wife Ruth; son Bradley Johnson (Carol) of Chicago; daughter Jan Rizzuto (Michael) of Frankfort; three grandchildren, Steven Johnson, Michael W. (Gayle) Rizzuto Emily (Bill) Clegg and several cousins. He received a B.A. from McKendree College, Lebanon, IL in 1953, and a Master of Divinity degree from Garrett Theological Seminary in 1957. He was ordained in the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church. Served IL pastorates in New Milford (1953-57), Lanark (1957-62), Rockford Bethany UMC (1962-69), Chicago Irving Park UMC (1969-78) and Chicago Ravenswood Fellowship UMC (1982-1992). Director of the Illinois United Methodist Church Ministry of Criminal Justice, (1978-81). Retired in 1992, resided in New Lenox until 2010 where he served as a volunteer Associate Minister at New Lenox UMC. He was residing at Marian Village in Homer Glen at the time of his death. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox IL 60451on Tuesday, August 6 from 3-9pm and again on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 from 9:00am until time of funeral service at 10:00am at United Methodist Church of New Lenox 339 W. Haven St. Interment Maplewood Cemetery, New Lenox. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to United Methodist Church of New Lenox
