94 late of New Lenox, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet. Survived by his loving family; his wife of 65 years Olga (nee Menin); children Linda (Doug) Marsh, Shirley (Joe) Pinkul, Nancy (Bill) Koch, Carol (Ken) Stephen, Brenda (Kirby) Bannerman and Frank Vittone; 14 grandchildren, a great-grandson and his sister Wilma (the late Tom) Monaghan. Preceded in death by his parents Frank and Josephine (nee Orso) Vittone. Sam retired in 1982 from Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, a life member of VFW Post 9545 New Lenox and a member of New Lenox American Legion Post 1977. In lieu of flowers, memorials to VFW Post 9545, New Lenox would be appreciated. Family will receive friends at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox, IL 60451 on Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 2:00PM until time of Funeral Service at 6:00PM. Interment Private.
