Phyllis J. James nee Santoro
Phyllis J. James (Santoro), 84, of New Lenox, IL (formerly So. Holland, IL), passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside Saturday, March 28, 2015. Phyllis was born on July 24, 1930 in Chicago, IL to Phil and Mabel Santoro. Phyllis leaves her loving daughters Sue James and Cindy James. Her cherished daughter Nancy James-Churchill preceded her in death in 2009. Phyllis also leaves her beloved grandchildren Liz Rakich and George J. Rakich as well as her sister Nancy M. Chevlin (Howard), brother Philip R. Santoro (Gerry); and her sister Arlene C. Riffice (Jack) who preceded her in death in 1988. Phyllis enjoyed the love of numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors; she had a wonderful supportive network of people that loved her. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Wednesday, April 1, 2015 with chapel prayers at 11:15AM to St. Jude Catholic Church, 241 W. 2nd Ave., New Lenox, IL 60451 for a 12 Noon Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Glenwood, IL. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home in Joliet, IL (www.joliethospice.org); their service to Phyllis was invaluable.
