Went to be with the Lord, May 6, 2012, after a brief illness. Born in Joliet, August 16, 1937 to the late Arthur and Edna (nee Bechstein) Kreis. Preceded in death by his beloved of 47 years Joyce Marie (nee Kerrigan); sisters, Irene Lucero and Elaine Kreis. Survived by his children William (Michelle), Kurt (Michelle), Alice (Bob) Fritz and Christine (Kirk) Kelly; grandchildren, Johnathon, Bryan and Alyson Kreis, Kadin, Colin and Clarissa Kreis, Kerrigan, Anna and Ryan Fritz, and Steven, Nicholas and Sean Kelly; several nieces and nephews, also his dear friend and caregiver Suzanne Gurley and cousin Dave Kropp. Paul had spent his working career in the Transportation Export/Import field. Midwest Manager, Farrell Steamship Lines, Midwest Sales Manager of the Port of New Orleans. He was active in several International Trade Clubs and a member of the Illinois Athletic Club, Chicago. He was a member of the Illinois National Guard, as well as an active member of First Lutheran Church, Joliet. In lieu of flowers, donations to First Lutheran Church, 55 W. Benton Street, Joliet, IL 60432 or Joliet Area Community Hospice Home would be appreciated. Family will receive friends at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox, IL 60451 on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 from 3 until 8 PM. Funeral service on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment St. John Cemetery, Mokena.
