Patrick Joseph Colvin, 63, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 8:05 A.M. Friday December 13, 2013 at the Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center in Hoopeston. He was born February 9, 1950, in Chicago, IL, the son of Kenneth E. and Valerie (Ploszaj) Colvin. He married Virginia T. Alm on September 25, 1971 at the Wayside Chapel in Palos Park, IL. She survives in Hoopeston. He is also survived by two daughters, Janice E. Colvin of Lockport, IL and Julie L. (Brian) Patton of New Lenox, IL; one son, Joseph P. Colvin of Chicago, IL; one sister, Celeste (Kelly) Katz; four grandchildren Kenny, Cari, Kylie and Nicholas and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Mary T. Colvin and one brother Michael Colvin. Mr. Colvin was a Chicago police officer for 28 years. He served in the United States Army from 1968 – 1970. Patrick enjoyed woodworking, playing the guitar and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed playing video games, fishing, photography, reading and cooking. A visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Tuesday December 17, 2013 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. Another visitation will be held 3:00 – 9:00 P.M. Wednesday December 18, 2013 at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 Francis Road New Lenox, IL. A service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday December 19, 2013 at the St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery 4600 W. 135th St. Crestwood, IL, with Steve Unger officiating. Burial will follow at St. Benedict. Memorials may be made to the Hoopeston Public Library or Hoopeston American Legion Post #384.
