Patricia A. Laschober (nee Kelly), age 76 of Mokena, IL, completed her life of service on November 24, 2022. She was happily married over 54 years to William J. Laschober, whom she met in German class at college. She was an incredible mother to Maureen; William P. (Julianne); and Colleen (late Christopher) Maples, who never heard their parents speak even a single a word of German. She relished doting on grandsons Jackson and Luke Maples and Patrick and Michael Laschober.
Born September 7, 1946, in Chicago, she is preceded in death by parents John F. and Frances G. Kelly as well as brothers William and John (Maureen) Kelly. She is survived by sisters Nancy Lisula, Kathryn Masterson, and Maureen (Thomas) Morrissey and sister-in-law Genevieve (late Patrick) Moran. Devoted aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Incomparable friend to so many, she loved being a part of your lives.
Pat cherished memories with classmates from St. Felicitas Elementary Class of 1960 and Aquinas Dominican High School Class of 1964. She was a proud graduate of Chicago State College (BS in Education) in 1967 and Chicago State University (MS in Education) in 1975.
Pat was never one to miss a good party, but she also showed up in tough times with caring, supportive words and deeds. In fact, it was in those tough times that her genuine kindness shone brightest. No one was more committed than Pat to helping others, in ways both big and small. She was a teacher, administrator, and counselor in the Chicago Public Schools for over 34 years, committed to caring for her students beyond the classroom as well. She was a weekly volunteer at Crisis Center for South Suburbia for over 26 years, helping countless women and children into better circumstances. She contributed to St. Emeric parish and school in many ways, including serving on the school board for 12 years. She departed with great memories of coaching and volunteering for various Country Club Hills athletic groups over the years.
