Norma “Jean” Schmidt (Simpson)
Age 86, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021. Cherished wife of Raymond, mother of Diana (Justin), Mark (Susan), and Brian (Diane). Grandmother of Matthew and Nathan. Great-grandmother of Rebekah.
After retiring from Walsh School, where she worked for many years, Jean enjoyed spending time with her family.
She delighted in making quilts and baking for others. One of her greatest joys was making quilts and clothing for children around the world through missions.
Her life was a testimony to her faith in Jesus Christ. Jean went home to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, with her family by her side.
2 Tim 4:7-8
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.
The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox, IL 60451 on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 3-8 PM with Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. Interment private. WEARING MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING ARE MANDATORY FOR ALL IN ATTENDANCE.
