Myril D. Lattz
74, of New Lenox, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012 at his home. Born February 5, 1938 in Crete, IL to the late Clarence and Emma (Mumm) Lattz. Preceded in death by his parents, 12 aunts and uncles. Survived by his loving wife Carole (Miazga), son John and wife Linda and their children Dylan and Alyssa, and daughter Mary and her husband Christopher Reed and their daughter Mackenzie, and brother Richard and wife Joyce and their children. Myril graduated from Crete-Monee High School, received a Bachelor's degree from Cornell College, Mt Vernon, IA. Served in the U.S. Army, 11th Corps, 409 Signal Company with rank of Specialist 5. Received a Master's degree from Northern Illinois University. Was employed at Remington Arms Company, Inc. Power Tools Division, Park Forest, IL for 7 1/2 years, H. Wilson Corp. in South Holland, IL for 2 years, was a teacher in the Business Education Department at Lockport Township High School for 30 years, and also the yearbook advisor for 22 years, taught BTW driver education during the summer and was a member of Delta Pi Epsilon, National and Illinois Business Education Associations. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Jude Catholic Church or American Lung Association would be appreciated. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451, on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 from 4-9PM. Funeral Service Thursday, August 16, 2012 with prayers at 9:30AM to St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM. Interment pending. For info.
