Anne M. Halik nee Novak

Age 104, of Lockport, IL formerly of New Lenox, passed away, Friday, May 30th, 2014, in Joliet, IL. Beloved wife of the late Marcel V. Halik; loving mother of Millicent (Glenn) James; cherished grandmother of Jason (Dana Haehnlein, Jodi (Brandon) Adair, Jason (Lindsay) James; and great-grandmother of Kieffer and Jackson Haehnlein, Duncan Adair, Hunter and Eva James; dear sister of Charles (Sandra Thomas) Novak; also survived by host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Marie Novak nee Sinok; and her siblings Emil Novak, John (late June) Novak, Joseph (late Mildred) Novak, Edward (late Helen) Novak, Mae (late Edward) Walsh, and George (late Marion) Novak. Anne enjoyed many years of volunteer work for the American Cancer Society and Sunny Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Joliet, and was an active member of Martha's Circle at the New Lenox United Methodist Church. The family would like to extend a very special Thank-you to the Staff of Sunny Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, particularly those caregivers on 5th Avenue and the staff of Joliet Area Community Hospice. A graveside service will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in New Lenox, on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Joliet Area Community Hospice or friends of Sunny Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kurtz Memorial Chapel, New Lenox, IL.
