Age 69, resident of Minooka, IL passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at home with his family at his side. Beloved husband of Ellyn nee Coon; loving father of Bryan (Michelle) Heap, Ian (Kathylee) Heap, and Dustin Heap; cherished grandfather of Jacob, Lucas, Ethan, Elizabeth, Addison, and Avery Heap. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Helen Heap nee Dirst and brother Harvey Heap. Walter was a retired Social Studies teacher for New Lenox School District # 122 and past member of the Historical Society of Kendall County. Family will receive friends at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox, IL 60451 on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 4-8PM. Lying In State Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral service at 11:00 AM at Faith Bible Church, 1600 Schuster Ave, Joliet, IL. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
