Robert G. Martin II, age 54, beloved husband of Carol (nee Stanton); loving father of Meghan, Robert III, Colleen and Ryan. Dearest son of Robert and Rita (nee Condon) Martin; cherished brother of Rose (Paul) Schneider, Renee (Paul) Johnson, Rhonda (Ed) Slingsby, Randy (Dawn) Martin and Ryan (Maura) Martin. Dearest brother-in-law to Maureen (Jim) Newman, Bill (Betsey) Stanton, Pat (Mike) Uribe, Peg (Jeff) Forgue, Dan (Barb) Stanton, Kathy (Ken) Unterberg and Tom (Julie) Stanton. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved French bulldog Jean-Pierre. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Maurice & Norine Condon, George & Margaret Martin and his in-laws William & Margaret Stanton. Bob was an active volunteer with Vision Health International and Amigos de las Américas; he was a member of the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Stock Exchange. Bob was a huge White Sox fan and loved going to as many games as possible. He will be cheering on his beloved White Sox. Although he loved to travel the world, he was happiest when he was with his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, good humor and a kind and generous nature. Bob was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox, IL 60451 on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 2-9 PM. Funeral service Tuesday, January 20, 2015 with chapel prayers at 9:45 AM to St. Mary Church, 19515 115th Ave., Mokena, IL 60448 for a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Marshall Cemetery, New Lenox, IL.
