Mr. Orville L. Ponto

Orville recently celebrated his 75th birthday, and completed his journey here on earth on August 29, 2011 surrounded by the love of his family and dear friends. He is survived by his wife Fran Ponto and 6 children. He shared 3 of those children with Marilyn Ponto who is deceased. Orville was raised in Reynolds, IN and moved to Park Forest as a young man. He was a skilled carpenter and worked for several construction companies in his life. He was with Manestar Construction in Hazel Crest, IL before he retired. Loving Dad to Kim Blair (Steve) Tongren, Kurt (Brenda) Ponto, Julie (Dale) Iurillo, Sherrie Dolan, Michelle Ponto (Fletcher Mills), and Ryland Ponto (Teresa Brudd). Grandpa and papa to 11 grandchildren, and great-grandpa to 2. He was a great Buddy to his faithful dog "Wilbur."

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423, on Friday, September 2, 2011 from 3-8 PM. Funeral Service Saturday, September 3, 2011, chapel prayers 9 AM, to St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, 78 Cherry St., Park Forest, IL 60466, Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM. Interment Private.
