Age 88, of New Lenox formerly of Mokena, IL., passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016. Beloved husband of Millie (nee Kreml, nee Scogin); loving father of Barbara (Drake) Butts, Daniel (Carole) Murray, Mary (Jeff) Maertin, Eileen (Scott) Moss, Michael (Mary Beth) Murray, John (Lynn) Murray, Jeanne (Thomas) Petros, Connie (Charlie) Beagan, Candy (Thomas) Paben, and Caren Doogin; also survived by numerous loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; dear brother of Dorothy Baldermann. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Ellen Murray; and siblings Mary Murrell, Theresa Gerdy, Eleanor Fish, his 1st wife Catherine Murray (nee Reaney), and son-in-law Jeff Maertin. Martin was a United States Army Veteran, and avid golfer. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 3:00PM until 8:00PM. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 19515 115th Ave., Mokena, IL 60448 at 10:00 AM. Interment private.
