Age 93, lifelong resident of Lockport, IL., passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in Joliet. Beloved husband of the late Rose nee Samuelson; loving father of Lester C. (Deanie) Larson, Kenneth W. (late Peggy) Larson, Ricky C. (Sandy) Larson, Cheryl Lyn (late Geno) Fritzo and Randy J. Larson; cherished grandfather of 14, great-grandfather of 11, and great-great grandfather of 5 He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Carrie Larson; siblings Edward Larson, Bernice Steinke, Thelma Puhl, and Velda Larson; grandson Christopher Larson, and granddaughter Sherri Larson. Lester retired from Union Oil in 1982, a member of Shepherd of the Hill Church in Lockport, and enjoyed working on his model trains. He was a World War II Army Veteran in North Africa and Europe, served in field artillery. He received 3 Battle Stars- Good Conduct, and was awarded the Belgian Fouragene for Battle of the Bulge. Family will receive friends on Saturday April 26, 2014 at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton St., Lockport, IL 60441 from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
