97, of Ocala, FL., formerly of Lockport, IL., passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013 in Ocala, FL. Beloved husband of the late Lois Manthey; loving father of Marilyn (Gus) Swinehart; cherished grandfather of: Bryan (Carol) Swinehart, Cynthia Johnson, and Kara (Jason) Davis; great-grandfather of: Madison and Grant Swinehart, Connor and Tyler Johnson, and Liam and Marlo Davis. Preceded in death by his brother John Manthey. Lawrence was a past president of the Lockport Grade School Board, past member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lockport, the Lockport Lion's Club, LTHS Boosters, and an avid supporter of LTHS athletics. Family will receive friends on Friday, September 6th, 2013, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1500 S. Briggs St., Lockport, IL, 60441, from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Entombment Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet, IL. Memorials may be designated to Hospice of Marion Co. Florida.
