Age 85, of Matteson, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Ruhla nee Granberg; loving father of: James P. (Janet) McDonnell, Eileen A. (Gary) Holiner, Mary T. (Rick) Holiner, Margaret M. (Barry) Secor, Kathleen M. (Jimmie) Yates, and William J. (Kimberly) McDonnell; cherished grandfather of 17 and great grandfather of 4. He was preceded in death by his mother Agnes nee Huntsha. James was a Navy Veteran, devote Catholic and member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Frankfort, and avid Notre Dame Fan. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423, Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 4-8pm. Funeral service Wednesday, October 31, 2012 with chapel prayers at 9:15 AM to St. Anthony Catholic Church, 7659 W. Sauk Trail, Frankfort, IL 60423 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to St. Anthony Church or the American Cancer Society appreciated.
