Age 86, of Lockport; formerly of Chicago, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Maxine nee Sarris; loving father of Harold, Gregory, Paul, Elizabeth (Joe) Stratta, and Dr. Helen (Kevin) Kuehlman; cherished grandfather of 11 and great-grandfather of 2; dear brother of Arlene (Kenneth) Brown and Charlotte (Bob) Weick. Also survived by his daughter-in-law Lois. Donald was preceded in death by his parents James and Elizabeth Boland, 1 son Donald, 1 grand-daughter, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Donald was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lockport, member of the Barber Shop Quartets, and United States Army Veteran. Don coached for the Hubbard Girls Softball Team and the High School Powder Puff Football. He was a Graphic Arts, Physical Education, and Drivers Education Teacher with Chicago Public Schools. Family will receive friends at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton St., Lockport, IL 60441 on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral service Friday, September 12, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery, Worth, IL.
