Dennis L. Krenzel, 65, resident of Lockport, IL; passed away October 15, 2011 in Joliet, IL., after a courageous battle with Diabetes, leaving him wheelchair bound. Beloved son of Rose nee Kraft; loving husband of Marcia nee Drexler; dear father of Anthony and Angela Krenzel; cherished brother of Charles (Linda), and Duane (Debbie); and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his father Pius, and brother Pius Jr. He worked for the K-Mart Corporation at various locations from 1968 until his retirement in 1993. During his retirement, he was actively involved with St. Dennis Church, enjoyed going to many local and Chicago sporting events, and participating in many other activities until he lost both of his legs to diabetes. In the last few months of his life, he was secretary of the Salem Village Residence Council. Family will receive friends at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton Street, Lockport, IL on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 3-8 PM. Funeral Service Thursday, October 20, 2011 with prayers at 9:15 AM to St. Dennis Catholic Church, Lockport for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment Lockport City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311 or charity of your choice.
