Michael John Gradl, Sr.

Age 77, of Homer Glen, formerly of Country Club Hills and the Brainard area of Chicago, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at his home with his family by his side.

Michael is survived by his loving family; wife Kathleen Gradl (Kelley); children Donna (Antonio) Romano, Michael J. Gradl, Jr., Kami (Michael) Westberg, David (Brenda) Gradl, Katherine (Brian) Stroup and Megan (Matthew) Volk; brother Robert (Shirley) Gradl; grandchildren Daniel, Eileen (Matthew) Lazecko, Isabella, Maria and Antonio III Romano, Emily, Erick and Mark Gradl, Megan and Sarah Westberg, Colleen, Patrick and Alana Stroup, Jacob, Aiden, Liam and Camden Volk and many nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Margaret (McNicholas) Gradl; brother William (late Vivian) Gradl and Marion (late Frank) Cavoto.

Michael was a member of U.A.W and the Ford Union. He worked at the Ford Assembly Plant in Calumet City for 30 years.

Family received friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral service on Saturday, August 26, 2017 prayers in the funeral home at 9:00 AM leaving for Our Mother of Good Counsel 16043 S. Bell Rd. Homer Glen, IL 60941 for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park.
