Matthew C. Brashinger Iii

Matthew Conrad Brashinger III, 67, became timeless on December 19. Matt is survived by his loving wife, Ginger (nee Vulcani), daughters Natalie (wife of Michael Heck) and Corey (fiance of Mauricio Benavedes), and son Matthew IV (husband of Kari Redemske), whom he endlessly entertained.

Matt was born on April 29, 1947, in Willmington, Ohio, first-born of Matthew Jr., d. 1989, and Maureen (nee Glenn), d. 1997. Partners-in-crime and Far Side-style humor of sisters Elaine Herbst and Bonnie Lill, Matt was also the beloved brother-in-law and the funny uncle to a large extended family and brand-new grandfather to Nicolas Conrad Heck.

Matt graduated from Illinois State University with a B.A. , and a Master's from Governor's State University. Matt was the consummate professional, first as a teacher of history at Coolidge Middle School for 12 years. His second career as a financial advisor and insurance agent spanned 33 years. He was renowned for genuinely caring for his students and clients, much as if they were his friends and family. Matt was a member of and advocate for numerous organizations--both professional and community, including the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce and Mokena Chamber of Commerce; Frankfort Lions Club; member and past president of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors Chicago Southland, Leadership in Life Institute Alumni and a Life Underwriters Training Council Fellow. Matt sank a hole-in-one at Urban Hills C.C. on 7/23/2000, called a game like a major league catcher, and told jokes with wild abandon. He knew everything, and was loved by everyone who knew he knew everything. An MVP husband, father and friend, he will always be missed and never be forgotten. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 from 2:00PM until time of memorial service at 7:00PM in the funeral home chapel.
