Mary Tomeczko

Mary Tomeczko, 90, passed away peacefully, at home in Orland Hills on June 23, 2020. She is survived by her loving family: daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Richard Lisak and grandchildren: Kyle, Ethan, and Mia Lisak. She was preceded in death by her son Kevin K. Tomeczko in 2010 and her husband Edwin Tomeczko in 2003. Also preceded by her seven siblings and their spouses: Edward Giliano, Evelyn Niven, Elizabeth (John) Radzik, Paul (Christine) Giliano, George Giliano, and Thomas Joseph. Mary was born to George and Abigail Giliano in Chicago on May 30, 1930. She had worked as a switchboard operator until she married Edwin Tomeczko and together they raised their family in Chicago, near Midway. After Edwin passed away, Mary moved to Tinley Park in 2006. She sung in the choir at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Chicago for many years and will be remembered for her love of animals. A Memorial Service will be held at Peace Memorial Church in Palos Heights at a future date with inurnment following at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
