Age 91, passed away on Sunday July 10, 2011 at her home in New Lenox with her family by her side.
Mary Louise was born in Antwerp Belgium on September 22, 1919 the daughter of Joseph and Madelein (Pype) Leemans, She immigrated to Moline, Illinois when she was 18 months old.
Mary Louise married Raymond VanHootegem on August 30, 1941. He predeceased her on May 9, 1985. She retired from the Park Forest Marshall Fields store, clerk in the Home Decorating Department.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Suzanne Thompson (Robert Longson) of Clermont, FL, and Patricia Kokkinis (Gus) of New Lenox, IL. also 6 sons, John of Mill Valley, CA, James (Susan) of Kewanee, IL, Joseph (Doreen) of Downers Grove, IL, Thomas (Diana) of Plano, TX, Eugene (Cindy) of Novato, CA, and Kevin (Charlene) of Park Forest, IL.
Also surviving are two sisters Suzanne (Al) Aubry of Moline, IL, Edna Giromini of Venice Fl, and 4 brothers, Albert (Yvonne), Eugene, Arthur, and Daniel (Jan) all of Moline, IL. Sister and brother Alice Polito Raes and Raymond Leemans predeceased her. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Louise is survived by 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. One grandson predeceased.
Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 65 Old Frankfort Way Frankfort, IL 60423, Tuesday, July 12th, 2011 from 5 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass, Wednesday, July 13 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mokena 10:00am. Interment will be private.
