Mary Ann Kochel (nee Steinquist)
82, of New Lenox, formerly of Joliet, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 6, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong resident of Joliet, Mary Ann was born to her loving parents, Albert and Florence (nee Woelfel) Steinquist. Beloved wife of 60 years of Clarence F. Kochel; loving mother of Jeffrey (Terri) Kochel and Kimberly (the late Timothy) Clark; cherished grandmother of Andrew (Shelby) Kochel, Alyssa (fiancé Daniel Dixon) Kochel, Michelle (John) Medlin, Megan (Joe) Moreno, Madeline (fiancé Salvatore Sierra) Franzen; proud great grandmother of Adeline Kochel, Jack, Luke, Fiona, and Clara Medlin, Leo and Vinny Moreno; dear sister of David (Janet) Steinquist; loved aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was a 1956 graduate of Joliet Central High School. She was a member of Faith Bible Church, where she joyfully served in many ministries, including the Seniors of Faith. Mary Ann loved to travel and adventured to nearly all of the United States. Throughout the years, she enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s many musical and sporting events. Her cats, Mindy and Marci, brought her great joy. Mary Ann’s caring and thoughtful heart will be profoundly missed and dearly remembered. Memorial donations may be made to Gull Lake Ministries in Mary Ann’s name. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 9:00am until time of Funeral Service at 11:00am. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet. Social distancing and masks are MANDATORY for ALL in attendance. No food allowed in the funeral home.
