Margaret M. “Marge” Adelman (nee Welter)

Age 86, resident of Lockport and Lisle passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Marge was born in Lockport to the late Bernard and Mary (nee Weiler) Welter. Beloved wife to the late Charles R. Adelman; loving mother of William "Bill" (Shelly) Adelman, Judith Adelman, Janice (Jeb) Cadwell, Jodine (Michael Sartori) Adelman, and Jennifer (Michael) Imhof; cherished grandmother of Bradley (Alicia) Adelman, Emily (David) Ward, Scott (Carrie) Adelman, Anna (Matt) Fitzpatrick, Chandell Adelman, Hunter, Grant, and Drake Imhof; Great-grandmother of 10; dear sister of the late Bernard “Benny” (late Pat) Welter, the late June (late Norm) Pankow, Nicholas “Nick” (late Sally) Welter, Robert “Bob” (Cindy) Welter, Ruth Ann (late Dennis) Kinzler, Carol (late Bill) Stamm, Bette Lou (Bill) McBride; beloved aunt of numerous nieces and nephews and cherished by many others. Marge was born and raised on a farm in Homer Township. She got engaged on her senior prom night and was married to her high school sweetheart for 54 years. Her love of baking cocoa logs, pecan cups and red cake will forever be cherished. She was even awarded the title “The Cream Puff Lady” by making her famous platter of the homemade pastries for numerous occasions. Marge was a past active member and leader of St. Dennis Catholic Church, Lockport, IL. She was a Will County Senior Center Board Member from 1992-2005. The family will receive friends at St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox, IL on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 10:00am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
