Margaret Francis Jurek Buttice, 94, of Richton Park, Illinois passed away peacefully on June 26, 2021. She was born on December 26, 1926, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the eldest of eight children. She moved to Chicago’s West Pullman/Roseland area in 1942. There Marge met the love of her life Vincent Buttice, and they were married in 1946. Vincent died suddenly in 1961 leaving her to raise their three sons, Edward, Wayne and Vincent, whom she fondly called “The B Boys.’’ Marge was a lifelong Chicago Cubs’ fan and she made sure her B Boys went to Wrigley as often as they could. She continued to watch the games faithfully throughout her life and regularly called Vince and Wayne to discuss the Cub’s latest standing, the new players and the stats on the hitters. She was their loudest and proudest fan when they finally cinched the World Series in 2016.

Marge was a homemaker for many years while raising the three boys. She enjoyed baking, cooking, crocheting, knitting and other crafts. She won blue ribbons for her outstanding baked goods and her “Chicago Sugar Cookies’ get rave reviews every time her sons, nieces and nephews and their extended families use the recipe. She worked outside the home in various job capacities including Zippo Lighter. She was a faithful Catholic and communicant of Saint Lawrence O’Toole in Matteson, Illinois.

Marge is survived by her sons, Wayne (Diane) Buttice of Phoenix Arizona and their children, Jake, Matthew and Marc and Vincent (Patricia) Buttice of Newport Center, Vermont, and their son Ryan and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Edward in 1989 and by her grandson Kyle in 2020.

In addition, she leaves her sisters Jane Laskey (Philip), Rose Extin (Edward). She was predeceased by sisters Jean Seleb, Marcela Kunz, Carol Kezis, Delores Kaye and brother Richard Jurek.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Saturday, July 24, 2021, from 9:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Alsip IL.
