Linda was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Margaret Rossman, her older brother Earl and daughter Karen Georgeson.
Born in Oak Park, IL she spent her childhood living in River Forest, IL with her family. Linda was a 1964 Graduate of Oak Park River Forest High School. Married the love of her life, Marty in 1978 and started her own family in Northlake, IL welcoming their daughter Maggie in 1985. Linda returned to her family home in River Forest for many years and moved to the Gateway Community in Frankfort, IL with Marty to retire in 2013. Linda was an active member of the community and made many treasured friendships.
Linda followed in her Mother’s footsteps and was an avid volunteer for countless years of her life. With her greatest volunteer accomplishment serving at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital for 10 years donating over 2000 hours.
Linda never met a stranger; she became a friend to everyone whom she crossed paths with. Linda put the needs of others before her own without question, even in her last week of life. She was a instinctively natural care giver to all. Linda was gentle, kind and compassionate yet strong-willed (some might even say stubborn) fierce and protective of her family and friends when needed. She loved antiques, told treasured stories and never stopped sharing precious memories of her life or her daughter; Maggie’s childhood. Everyone was invited into her home at any time, and it was unlikely you’d leave without having a cold drink, snack or home cooked meal. Linda hosted the best holiday dinners, baked the most delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies, birthday cakes and chex mix!
She was an angel on earth and true blessing to those she loved and who loved her. May we carry her memory in our heart and honor her legacy by giving love, care, compassion and service to those we know and those we don’t know just as she did.
