Leonard A. Barnickel
73, of New Lenox, passed away May 2, 2017 in Arizona. He was born in Chicago to the late Leonard T. and Rita (nee Heintz) Barnickel. Beloved husband of Karen M. (nee Erskine); loving father of Dennis (Chris) Barnickel, Cindi (Adam) Schouten, and Jennifer Barnickel; cherished grandfather of Lukas Cole, Lacey Barnickel, Tyler Schouten, Serena Barnickel, and Ryan Schouten; dear brother of the late Ruth (William) Burke, Thomas (Beverly) Barnickel, Janice (the late John) Roth, and Kate Barnickel; uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Leonard was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of the New Lenox American Legion Post 1977 and the Millwright Union Local 1693. The family will receive friends for a Memorial Visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 2pm – 6pm.
