Lee Ann Gaal (nee Bruno)
Age 68, of New Lenox, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 8, 2022, surrounded by family after a 25-year battle with cancer. Lee was born in Chicago to the late Ameletto and Elizabeth (nee Walter) Bruno. Beloved wife of Louis J. Gaal Jr (retired CPD); loving mother of Marie (Leland) Short, Jaclyn (Michael) Kashirsky, and Louis John Gaal III; cherished grandmother of Michael and Lily Short, and Chase and Austin Kashirsky; dear sister of Sr. Susan Bruno, O.S.F., Elizabeth (Gerry) Richard, the late Leonard Bruno, the late Michael Bruno, and Mary Therese (Thomas) Schwarz; loved aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. Lee was a teacher for Chicago Public Schools for over 25 years. Memorials in Lee’s name to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox, IL on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 3pm – 9pm. Funeral services Friday, May 13, 2022, with prayers at the funeral home at 10:15am to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lockport, IL for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Interment Private.
