Lawrence “Larry” Placher Of Joliet was born in 1953 to the late Jerry and Eleanor and passed away on April 13, 2023. Beloved husband of Debra (nee Hadaway) Placher; loving father of Rachel (Terry) Sullivan; proud grandfather of Haidyn, Logan, and Rylee; Larry was preceded in death by Audrey Reeves, Jerry (Joann) Placher, Patsy (Gene) Kopczynski, Jack Placher, Bill Placher, Beverly (Tom) Kinnary, Judy (Don) Biermann, and Mike (Vicky) Placher and beloved mother in law Jane Schultz. Larry is survived by Sue (Kim) Hamby, and numerous beloved brother and sister in laws; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Larry was an avid racing fan and enjoyed watching all kinds. Larry was a proud grandfather and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Especially attending their sports events and cheer competitions. Larry spent his life working in the heavy haul trucking industry. One of his life accomplishments was the planning and building of Walona Fields for New Lenox Girls Softball. The years he coached "his girls" were the happiest years of his life. A special thank you to all of his doctors, especially Dr. Ragona and Chanelle. A celebration of life will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd New Lenox, IL 60451 on Saturday April 22nd from 2-6pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Lightways Hospice Joliet, IL.
