Laverne A. Smazik

Laverne A. Smazik (nee Homolka) Age 93, of Homer Glen, formerly of Brookfield, IL, passed away at home on Thursday, January 26, 2023. Laverne was born in Chicago, IL to the late Edward and Anna (nee Balej) Homolka. Beloved wife of the late Milton Smazik; loving mother of Sheree Smazik and Mark (Jill) Smazik; cherished grandmother of Melanie Smazik; dear sister of the late Edward (late Helen) Homolka. Laverne was former Executive Secretary to the President and Vice President of Pilcher Hamilton, a homemaker, and restoration specialist along with her husband Milton. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox, IL on Monday, January 30, 2023, from 4pm – 7pm. Interment will be private at Woodlawn II Memorial Park, Joliet, IL.
