LARRY D. SWARENS

Age 76, of Mokena, passed away on Friday, May 8th 2020 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.

Larry is survived by his loving family, wife of 52 years, Doreen Swarens (Hickling), children, Catherine (Kenny) Schipman, Wendy Swarens, Kevin (Chris) Swarens, grandchildren, Patrick Schipman, Emily Schipman, Ellie Schipman, Kyle Swarens, Reese Swarens, siblings, Carolyn Sue (Hank) Walstra, Brenda (Doug) Lindquist, Elizabeth (Rick) Przybyski, brothers in-law, Chuck Flahive and Tom Anders.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Don & Jessie Swarens (Harding).

Larry was always selfless, sacrificing his own comfort for others. He was patient, kind and put others first. He provided for his family of five and gave his time generously. He loved to research family genealogy and pass on legacies. He loved being out in nature and surrounded by his kids, grandkids and extended family. He loved retirement years and spending time with family on the boat on beautiful Klinger Lake in Michigan. Larry liked trivial puzzles and loved figuring out electronic gadgets. He was always very creative and enjoyed building and creating new inventions and telling everyone how he did it. His family & friends used to laugh & lovingly tease him about his “innovative” ways. He will be greatly missed.
