56, of New Lenox, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017. Kurt was born in Joliet, to James F. and Darlyne P. (nee Cleveland) Hischier. Husband of Jennifer (nee Knechtsberger); loving father of Michael and Christian; dear brother of Jeff (Pam) Hischier and Susan (James) Hornichak; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends also survive. Kurt was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was employed as a Letter Carrier by the U.S Postal Service for 30 years, the past 15 years serving the people of New Lenox. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox on Sunday, January 22, 2016 from 2pm – 7pm. Funeral Service on Monday, January 23, 2017 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:15am to St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church 127 S. Briggs St. Joliet for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment with Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
