Kenneth R. Connor

Connor, Kenneth R., 76, of Mokena, formerly Chicago Heights, passed away March 28, 2018 after a 12-year battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving family: wife of 51 years, Linda Connor nee LaClare; children: Kevin (Vanessa) Connor of Brookfield, Linda (Michael) Bolden of Mokena, Suzanne (David) Delrose of New Lenox; grandchildren: Logan, Brayden Connor, Bryant, Anthony, Brianne Bolden, Stephanie, Tiffany, Brittany Delrose; Siblings: Barbara (Brian) Hutson of Lockport, Richard (Doreen) Connor of Warsaw, IN, Jeanette McGurr of Savanna, GA. Ken was raised in Glenwood. A Bloom THS graduate he went on to SIU for an undergraduate degree in Physical Education and earned his master's degrees in psychology and counseling at CSU. He also served in the US Navy from 1962-1964. He taught PE at Tinley Park HS, Oak Forest HS and Hillcrest HS. He retired in 1994. Ken enjoyed coaching for 141 seasons of various sports, predominantly in basketball, golf, and softball. Visitation will be held on Mon., April 2, from 3:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 3 from 8:45 a.m. until the time of prayers at 9:30 a.m. at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way in Frankfort. Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 19515 115th Ave. in Mokena. Interment following at Assumption Cemetery in Glenwood.
