Ken E. Christensen


Age 79, a resident of Frankfort formerly of Oak Lawn and Chicago, passed away at his home on Monday, November 8, 2021. Loving husband of Janice Christensen (nee Marino); beloved father of Scott (Dee) Christensen, Ken (Cheryl) Christensen, Kerry (John) Lackner, Kurt (Michele) Christensen and Chris (Kim) Christensen; cherished papa of Kenny, Scott, Erik, Ashley, Madison, Riley, Amanda, Jack, Kyle, Gunnar and Vivvy. He is also survived by loving friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph, and Vivienne (Hanson) Christensen. Ken was a proud 50-year member of Local #150 International Union of Operating Engineers, and the Operations manager at Timber Ridge in Matteson. He was heavily involved with coaching youth baseball in Oak Lawn along with being the Cub master for Pack #3614. Ken had many hobbies, including fishing, hunting and woodworking, but most of all he was a diehard fan of The Chicago White Sox and The Green Bay Packers. He will always be remembered as a dedicated family man. A memorial visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 PM.
